King's Table
The King’s Table (originally The Lord’s Kitchen), is a program that has been feeding the homeless and the hungry since June, 2005. The program grew out of a vision that Pastor Motley had and has continued to grow, with much prayer and faith, each year. The program feeds 100 to 150 people daily from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., Monday thru Friday. Wilma Sadler-Morton, the food ministry director at Gilt Edge and the King’s Table coordinator, takes pride in preparing nutritious meals each day for the people.
The community-wide partnership we have established with other churches has helped us sustain the King’s Table program. Our partnership with Southeast Christian Church Harvest Grant has been a tremendous help. Other churches throughout the community send volunteers to help prepare and serve food.
Martin Luther King Food Pantry
Gilt Edge has operated the MLK food pantry for 25+ years to residents of Clark County, regardless of race, creed, or color. The program, directed by Gilt Edge member, Linda Horton, distributes food to those persons who are in need of food. The food pantry is open Wednesday-Friday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. We are also available for emergencies.
